The Mitta Valley Landcare Group engaged Anna Turner of the Charles Sturt University to do a project researching frogs in the Mitta Valley from November 2019 and it concluded in February 2021. Of particular interest was the Southern Bell Frog during the survey phase.
Recently, both Simon Feillafe, MVLG Facilitator and Anna Turner visited 9 properties over two nights, again, our elusive Bell frog was not seen, but based on conversations was well spread around the Mitta 30 plus years ago.

The Victorian Government has been working on a Victorian Deer Control Strategy as a direct result of the many consultations from across Victoria from local communities like ours.
Mitta Valley Landcare hosted a number of community meetings and our findings along with many other communities like ours, were fed up to the Victorian Government who have addressed our concerns in the following paper. There is a link to the actual strategy as well as public feedback received.
